The relevant age for each player is determined by his or her age as at midnight on 31st August of the relevant playing season.
Children born between 01/09/2017 - 31/08/2019 (School Reception & Year1) may register for the under 6 team
Children born between 01/09/2017 - 31/08/2018 (School Year 2) may register for the under 7 teams
Children born between 01/09/2016 - 31/08/2017 (School Year 3) may register for the under 8 teams
Children born between 01/09/2015 - 31/08/2016 (School Year 4) may register for the under 9 teams
Children born between 01/09/2014 - 31/08/2015 (School Year 5) may register for the under 10 teams
Children born between 01/09/2013 - 31/08/2014 (School Year 6) may register for the under 11 teams
Children born between 01/09/2012 - 31/08/2013 (School Year 7) may register for the under 12 teams
Children born between 01/09/2011 - 31/08/2012 (School Year 8) may register for the under 13 teams
Children born between 01/09/2010 - 31/08/2011 (School Year 9) may register for the under 14 teams
Children born between 01/09/2009 - 31/08/2010 (School Year 10) may register for the under 15 teams
Children born between 01/09/2008 - 31/08/2009 (School Year 11) may register for the under 16 teams
Children born between 01/09/2006 - 31/08/2008 (School Year 12 & 13) may register for the under 18 teams

* By "competitive" we mean results are recorded / published and trophies awarded for 1st / 2nd place in a league format. In the younger age groups, this is not the case, all matches are friendly matches.
Playing Up or Down a Year
We will not field a player who was born in the previous school year in a team, otherwise we will be fined and any results would be null and void. As a general rule, Grasshoppers do not allow players to play up a year, however players can occasionally do this with the approval of the respective team managers.
